Xichong Bay Shenzhen masterplan

The competition for the development of the Xichong Bay close to Shenzhen, carried out in collaboration with the agency TER paysage, has stirred up a strong emulation about landscape issues, heritage and possible forms of tourism.

Xichong Bay is in a protected natural environment zone and occupied by small villages attached to the slopes of the site. Highly exposed to natural hazards, the coast and the lower parts are difficult to urbanise.

The competition was the scene of an in-depth reflection on how to generate diverse and complementary places with regard to issues related to risk, landscape and tourist attractiveness.

Our group is one of the three finalists out of the eight Design proposals.
