Tours Entracte
The project is organised around the spatial overlay of a supple pedestal, telling the story of mobility and variety of uses and a superior plan turned to housing program.
The pedestal includes working spaces, daily shops, restaurants and a theater - inside and outside - located in the structure inflexions. The programs inclusion will help to expend the time past in the place and to increase significantly the usage value of the place.
Housing allows the building to generate a density and a significant presence upon the public square at the angle. The façade is like a uniform shell, a metallic stitch that stages the diversity of housing’s appropriations.
The project takes place on the site of a car park. It has been sculpted by its rank of intermodal crossing. It’s bordered by the tramway on the east side and by the recent Daniel Mayer street on the north that rules the development of the urban surroundings.
The building takes into account the contradictions of the site to transform it into an urban statement. The global shape thus formed is a contextual yet remarquable shape. It’s the occasion of a unique urban and architectural prospection.
