Grillé La Défense
The concept of this project is creating the common ground, by using a single table, the piece that would connect both the public and the private. The kitchen is fully open and visible from the dining area. Clients can eat while having a direct view on the interior show displayed in the kitchen. The actual user of the space is participating of the stenographic settings, he is part of the theater, the action.
The L shaped volume of the counter is centered on the ground floor surface, but the counter top continues its shape on the glass façade also, providing a few more public seating.
The fine blue and white handmade azulejos greets you once you enter as it covers all the walls where high-end kitchen appliances are exhibited. The arrangement of the tiles are used to create a sort of fresque, silhouettes, reminders of all the different crafts that are used in culinary process.
The opposite walls surface is made out of blue tint mirrors that are used to amplify the space, and enhance all of the other materials.
This Grillé is a re interpretation of « modernist » codes that generated the image of La Défense, combined with the very dedicated and domestic codes of the brand.
