Bauer District Stadium
Our intervention will include the Bauer District project in an enlarged urban system that will make it possible to reconsider the identity of the site in connection with the Flea Market, the city of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, and its role in the Metropolis of Greater Paris. The urban equation is, in a way, treating two ambitions, two temporalities, in equivalence : preserving the functional and architectural heritage of the site without hindering the creation of a new, radiant and attractive ecosystem.
Our starting point was to protect the heart of the device, a large vault that crosses the Bauer Box and preserves the views of the stadium from the street doctor Bauer. The abundance that the site lodges becomes visible from the main roads creating dynamic views and facades in order to disseminate knowledge and innervate the local ecosystem. Day and night, the neighbourhood is active and this activity is visible and highlighted.
Around this big vault, we wanted a programmatic organisation as functional as possible. Instead of compartmentalising each universe of the building (we wonder about their potential complementarity by seeking to create a common social space, conductive to meeting and serendipity.) Thus the Magix box welcomes: shops and restaurants, cultural spaces, sport & health area, office and coliving.
