Clement Blanchet Architecture shares his project for the extension of the theatre in Saint Quentin en Yvelines

It seeks to activate and live with its esplanade.

It engages the city, the theatre is no longer set back, or in line, it is slightly protruding on the Place Georges Pompidou.

The building is itself a theatre of the public space.

The project develops as an invitation to engage new configurations and uses of the public space, notably with a restaurant/stage, which, in its quality of suspended line, can frame a protected stage on the square.

A stage will now be placed on the square, possibly with its curtain... We want to offer a device open to invention.

The project is also the creation of a new arch: it mixes form and function, echoing the formal hazard of Stanislas Fiszer's work, but also the creation of a double balcony restaurant, both on the newly created antechamber - the foyer inhabiting the void between the extension and the original theatre - and on the other side on the city.

“It is simply a series of balconies, places, rooms, framings, staging a look at both the theatre and the city”. Clement Blanchet
